Description:
Origin of the Seeds:
- In India, chia seeds were mainly cultivated in Mandsaur and Neemuch, until it was introduced to the cities of Uttar Pradesh(Amseruva and Siddhaur).
- The chia seed crops usually take around 115 days to mature. The entire crop is uprooted and dried for five days before harvest.
- After drying, threshing is carried out. On average, one acre of land can produce five to seven quintals of fruit.
- Harishchandra Singh said that the soil should be pulverized for the rich production of chia seeds.
- It is important to have sufficient moisture in the field before sowing.
- This crop is sown in the Rabi season, which runs from October through November.
- It can only be grown in a mildly cool climate.
How to Use:
- Soak the seeds in water for a few minutes and then they can be used as sprinklers or toppings on shakes or any of your favorite drinks.
- They can also be used in baking.
