• Sweet Pongal is a traditional delicious dish from Tamil Nadu, South India cooked during special occasions and festivitals as an offering for the Gods. Locally it is known as Sakkar Pongal or Sakkarai Pongal in Tamil and Chakkara Pongali in Telugu.
• It is usually cooked during Makara Sankranthi or Pongal festival time to celebrate a good harvest.
• Normally it is cooked using Rice and Sugar but we have made it with Millets and Jaggery.
• FORGOTTEN FOODS Sweet Pongal is made using kodo millet, moong dal (yellow lentil), jaggery, cardamom, raisins and cashew nuts.

HOW TO COOK:

• Step 1 Add 1 measure MIX to 2.5 measure boiling water.
• Step 2 Stir constantly for 7-8 minutes on low to medium flame.
• Step 3 Mix well. Serve hot. *Optionally serve with ghee.
• Measure means a cup or container of your choice

• Jaggery (46.6%), Kodo millet (24.5%), Split Yellow lentil (19.6%), Raisin, Cashew nut, Edible Oil (Made from Coconut oil, Sesame oil) and Cardamom.
